"La Cuaresma" has finally come to an end. This past week of Semana Santa (Easter week) has brought lots of tourists to Guatemala to admire the carpets made of flowers or colored saw dust. The streets are lined with these "alfombras" (carpets) that people have labored over for hours and then the processions pass through - men in royal purple robes and women in black, people swinging pine incense, passing through the streets with a marching band close behind, walking over the carpets. A busy, beautiful week!

Guate Linda Language Center is committed to helping the community of Antigua as well as others. We work with a homeless project near the main market. On Fridays, we visit the project during lunch time to help pass out food and spend time with people. 10% of Guate Linda's earnings go towards helping this project. Come study a language at our school with us and know that part of your payment will go towards a worthy cause.
